There’s just 3 months to go until TORQ in your Sleep, Gorricks hugely popular August Bank Holiday Weekend XC Endurance event, headline sponsored by TORQ Fitness and now in its 10th year.
Taking place at Minley Manor, Minley, Hants GU17 9UF, there’s riding in the main 12 hour event for Solos, Pairs and Teams between Noon and Midnight, plus 6 hour riding from 3pm to 9pm. To make it as inclusive as possible there’s Fat Bike & Single Speed sub categories available too. You can expect everyone’s favourite sections, plus a few surprises in our established 8 mile figure of 8 course, made up of a blend of flowing single track and more open sections in a mix of heath land, beech woods, pine forest and open parkland that includes the Bridge to Nowhere which comes alive after dark with sound and light.
This friendly event has comprehensive facilities including a huge riders’ marquee and trade stands to browse in the Arena. Quaver catering will have their marquee on site and be open throughout the weekend. In short, there’s everything you need to make a weekend of it with your family, friends and supporters.
The venue will be open from Noon on Saturday 26 until 2pm on Monday 28 and camping is FREE in the beautiful camping areas around the central Arena - with plenty of toilets plus hot showers. The event kicks off on Saturday afternoon with the focus on the younger riders. Your 3-16 year olds can sample a section of the course in their own age related races, with medals and sweets for all afterwards. After these races will be Open TORQ, a one lap for the charity Dreamflight leisure ride.
Entry is by online pre-entry only here but will close when the event is full. Pairs and Teams can be entered with just a name, as they don’t need to be finally confirmed until the day of the event when you sign on and collect your Registration Packs. Entry for the children/young riders races and Open TORQ will be done at Registration on the Saturday afternoon.
